SOLAR ENERGY
Harnessing the sun's resources through solar energy is an alternative for using clean and cheaper energy, which has great potential in Brazil. The country has high levels of radiation in most regions and, even on cloudy or rainy days, the rays are absorbed to produce electricity. According to the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), in 2020 alone, the national installed capacity in photovoltaic solar energy – which is converted into electrical energy to power household appliances, lamps, etc. – grew 62% compared to the previous year.
One of the main benefits of solar energy is that it is considered renewable and inexhaustible, since it uses the sun as a primary source and helps to contain the impacts of climate change . This type of system can also contribute to reducing costs with the acquisition of electricity.
By reducing electricity bills by up to 95%, the savings provided by this technology are enough not only to pay for its purchase and installation, but also to generate profitability for a long time, as its useful life is more than 20 years. With the savings on the bill, the amount paid for the system is offset between three and five years after installation and profitability is generated for more than 15 years.

AGROECOLOGICAL TRANSITION CERTIFICATE
The Agroecological System is a form of sustainable agriculture that revisits the agronomic concepts that existed before the so-called Green Revolution for the production of food and other agricultural products. This production system does not use chemical fertilizers, pesticides or transgenic organisms.
The State Secretariats for the Environment and Agriculture (SMA/SAA), together with the Organic Agriculture Association (AAO) and the Kairós Institute, signed on May 22, 2016 the Protocol of Intentions for the Agroecological Transition and the stimulation of organic production with the objective of promoting good agro-environmental practices and the sustainable use of natural resources by farmers, in addition to encouraging the increase in the production, supply and consumption of healthy and agro-biodiverse foods.
In February 2022, Joint Resolution SAA/SIMA/SJC 01/2022 was published establishing the Agroecological Transition Protocol, including the Itesp Foundation as a new partner.
The Protocol aims to support and facilitate this gradual process of changes from the conventional production system to an agroecosystem in accordance with the principles of Agroecology in rural, urban and peri-urban areas of the state of São Paulo.

CARBON CREDITS (C3)
C3 Ambiental promotes the remuneration of family farmers for environmental services provided, such as carbon sequestration. The carbon credits generated are traded on the voluntary market and passed on to partner providers as payment for these services.
Carbon credits are a monetary mechanism that represents the reduction or removal of one metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) from the atmosphere. They are generated from projects and initiatives that aim to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, such as campaigns for conscious consumption, reduction of deforestation and the use of alternative energy sources.
